The historic Lime Kilns at our RSPB Churnet Valley reserve were given a bit of a spruce up this week. The scrub must be removed every 2 years to ensure there is no damage from roots growing into this scheduled ancient monument.

Many who came to the Kingsley Wakes event in June will recall that Allison Held had a tombola stall raising money towards her target of £1000 by cycling from London to Paris to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
What a great weekend everyone had at the start of September when the villages first ever Scarecrow Festival was held. The aim was for around 15 crows but in the end there was almost three times that amount with 44 entries.
Ipstones Christmas Market Committee have taken the decision to cancel the event this year, which was due to take place on Friday 24th November.
