Are you interested in attending a chainsaw course to learn how to fell trees safely and in the right direction? Or do you know someone who's interested?
CVLLP Woodland Officer Tabi Kime is organising a CS30 & CS31 NPTC chainsaw course - felling small trees (up to 15" diameter), which will be taught by a LANTRA/ NPTC trainer. It is a 5 day course which covers chainsaw safety, crosscutting, felling trees using different cuts depending on the size of the tree/ where it needs to fall/ whether the tree is forward, upright or backward leaning, without getting your chainsaw stuck, dealing with hung up trees, rolling trees into gaps, removing branches of trees, tension and compression cuts, brashing, stacking timber and chainsaw maintenance.
The course costs £300 for the 5 days. If you would like to also do the day assessment and have the NPTC certificate, this is an additional £150/ or £160 depending on numbers.
Tabi will send more details/ possible dates when she has an idea of who's interested. For details contact Tabi Kime on 07860592302 tabi.kime@rspb.org.uk
