Despite the Churnet Valley Railway currently being shut due to the global pandemic, we find it necessary to remind members of the public that trespassing on the railways within the area is not permitted.
Trespassing on a railway is classified as a Criminal Offence and is a dangerous activity that can lead to serious injury at best, or in some cases even death.
Whilst the Churnet Valley Railway is not running public train services, staff continue to inspect the railway and this means trains are being run across the entire network. These trains do not run to a set schedule and can be operated at any time.
Whilst we may operate heritage steam and diesel trains, like the trains depicted in the following video they do not slow down like a car and can appear out of nowhere. Further information can be found at http://www.youvstrain.co.uk. Warning the contents may upset some viewers.
Do not take risks. Do not trespass.
