The historic Lime Kilns at our RSPB Churnet Valley reserve were given a bit of a spruce up this week. The scrub must be removed every 2 years to ensure there is no damage from roots growing into this scheduled ancient monument. Thanks to local contractors Tree Heritage for their skills and hard work and to licensed bat handlers Martin and David from Staffordshire Bat Group for giving up their free time just in case we came across any bats in the kiln. I'm sure you'll agree it looks great.
