Volunteers are sought to take part in the grants panel which will be making decisions on the new Churnet Valley community grants scheme administered by CVLLP partner Staffordshire Moorlands CVS..
You would be eligible to apply if you live in the Churnet Valley and have good knowledge of the area and its communities. The grants panel will be awarding grants of up to £3,000 to not-for-profit groups in the Churnet Valley for projects that enhance or interpret the heritage and countryside.
As community grants officer, Suzanne Cole, explains: “We find that grants panels made up of enthusiastic local residents, who know their communities well, make great decisions. They not only understand what will work in their community but they can also share their knowledge and experience to help improve some projects. It would be particularly good if young people living in the valley expressed an interest in joining the panel.”
The grants panel will meet four times a year and training will be provided.
