Mayfield Memorial Hall is 100 years old this year. Built in 1922 to commemorate Mayfield’s casualties in the first world war, it is still at the heart of the village.
As part of their year-long celebrations, the hall is hosting a “Made in Mayfield” craft fair and barbeque. The hall has given the many crafts-people in the village free stalls to show and sell their handicrafts, including jams, soaps, cakes, dog treats, chutneys, hand creams, bath melts, wood turning, plants, statuettes and scented candles.
There is also a barbeque by Middle Mayfield’s Alder Carr Farm, serving their pedigree Tamworth sausages and lamb burgers. And the Mayfield Arms bar will be open.
Everyone is invited for a burger, beer and beautiful handmade bargain. At the Mayfield Memorial Hall (Conygree Lane, Mayfield, DE6 2LD) on Saturday 24 October from 12-6 pm. Free entry.
