Why have we done this... for free? This site is part of the Churnet Valley Living Landscape (CVLLP). A 'living landscape' is about connecting and reconnecting people with nature. The 'living landscape' concept also looks to include sustainable, low carbon initiatives that support the local economy and encourage employment opportunities. The Advent Showcase is a campaign to support the economy of the Churnet Valley and it will work best if the community gets behind it. This is a quick and easy process but if you have frustrations or feedback please contact us as we are happy to help and always looking to make improvements to the site.

Step 1 - Create a user account

Make sure you have an account set up on the Churnet Valley Guide - nip here first if necessary, it is very quick and simple to get started. Then, make sure you are logged in before coming back to follow the next steps.

Step 2 - Add/Check your regular listing

Check/add your regular, permanent entry on the site - add your page by selecting from the following categories that best suit your organisation: Accommodation; Attraction (that's a tourist attraction); Business (business or service based in Churnet Valley); Food & Drink (pubs, tea rooms, restaurants, shop etc); Organisation (e.g a charity or community group). You will be prompted for your logo, some text, a picture and contact details.

Step 3 - Fill in the Advent Showcase entry form

Find a festive photo that we can put onto the Advent Calendar along with your details and your copy. Use the photo uploader below to send it to us. Fill in the form below. If you need help or ideas please get in touch. Bear in mind this information will be sent out via email and shared on social media so it needs to work across all platforms.

Step 4 - Support the campaign

Every day we will promote the next Advent page to change from snowy scene to local offer. It is the virtual equivalent of opening the Advent Calendar window and finding a little treat. Please get involved in the advent showcase and think of ways to share it far and wide. Could you add a link from your website? Are you on social media? Is your offer date specific? e.g. if you have an event early in December, choose an early date so that we can promote it for you. If you want people to know about accommodation and venue ideas for next summer, then a later date is best.
